So no we are six months into the year and our top ten names have been changing every month, has June continued that trend? We’re back to show you the most popular names again, and this month has a few surprises in store! As always we bring you the top ten rated names and your top ten favourites.
As we always do our first look is at the top 10 highest rated names on BabyNames.co.uk in June, none of the names from last month remained in the top 10 and we’ve also seen four brand new entries. Here is the chart from June – remember our ratings are out of five.
Sophie has returned to the top of our chart for the first time since March after not even featuring in the top ten inbetween! It’s interesting to see a name do that, as it is obviously very popular, but perhaps due to its popularity it sometimes loses your support due to uniqueness. Sophie also set the trend for only two boys names entering the top then this month! Apart from the four new entries, we also saw re-entries for popular names such as Lily, Isla, Niamh, Ava and Grace.
William, Ethan, Miriam and Kirsty were our four new entries in June. Ethan has been a frequent visitor in our top favourite names, but never has it made the top ten ratings, until now! It has to be said that Miriam is a rather random entrant into our top ten, obviously some of you out there decided that Miriam was the flavour of this month. The names in our top ten this month clearly show a return to the classic flavour that 2013 has brought, perhaps May was just a blip?
We like to keep you up to date with your top ten favourite names too – these are the ones you have added to your favourite lists so it’s likely that you have chosen one of them for your baby. What did June have in store?
Oscar rose to the top of our chart for the first time since February whilst the ever popular Noah dropped to fourth place. In fact this month so no new entries into the top ten, but Amelia, Leo, Lucas and Isaac all re-entered the top ten. Leo hadn’t been in our top ten since January, so some of you have obviously decided it’s time for it to make a reappearance. The others regularly fall in and out of our top ten.
The largest faller this month was Olivia, this girls name is a regular feature in the top ten, although it is not unknown for it to fall out of the charts. No doubt next month Olivia will again be towards to top of your favourite names.
June saw yet more interesting changes in the top charts on BabyNames.co.uk, and the classics certainly returned in force. Will Miriam remain in your top ten next month?
