Last week, we speculated that Beyoncé and Jay Z have chosen Shawn and Bea as the names for their newborn twins. However, we now have concrete proof that they have actually decided to go with a pair of more unusual names!
The super couple have let the cat out of the bag on Friday when it was revealed that the company they owned had filed legal documents to trademark the names Rumi Carter and Sir Carter, according to TMZ.
The names have been trademarked for all types of purposes, including baby teething rings, pushchairs, hair ribbons and rattles, in addition to tote bags, sports balls, key chains, cosmetics and fragrances.
So, it seems as if Bey and Jay have chosen something much more unique for their children! While the meaning of Sir is most likely the same as the English vocabulary word referring to the honor of being knighted, Rumi is a bit more obscure. It is speculated that it comes from the 13th-century Persian poet of the same name, Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rumi. In Japanese, the name Rumi also means ‘beauty,’ ‘current,’ ‘flow, and ‘water.’
Baby Rumi and Sir will be joining big sister, Blue Ivy, 5.
Leave it to Beyoncé and Jay-Z to come up with such provocative and interesting names!
