“Hollyoaks” star Kieron Richardson and his husband, Carl Hyland, are expecting twins!
And they announced it in the cutest way possible too. The couple shared an Instagram video where they display a “Baby on Board” sign hung on a Christmas tree. Then there is a shot of them opening a large present and inside is another sign that says “Twins coming 2017.”
The video was captioned: “Merry Christmas to us thanks to the British surrogacy centre [sic].”
Kieron has been open about his struggle to conceive a baby through IVF after four failed attempts. They were concerned that they would never have a family of their own.
“We were hoping to have a baby this year. Unfortunately, like anyone who is trying for a baby through IVF – whether they are gay couples or not – it is a lottery,” Kieron said in September to the “Mirror.” “The statistics when we first started it were a 70% success rate. We have tried it four times, with the same surrogate mum, and we have fallen into that 30% bracket of it not working.”
Kieron and Carl tied the knot last April after seven years together. They had their wedding in the Peak District, where many of Kieron’s co-stars from Hollyoaks attended as guests.
We are so happy that Kieron and Carl are able to have a family after such a long journey! Congrats to the happy couple!
