Jimmy Kimmel is expecting baby number two with his wife, Molly McNearney!
The television host announced it during yesterday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, after it was revealed that he would be hosting the Academy Awards for the first time next year.
“And also, my wife is hosting a baby inside her body. So that’s exciting,” Jimmy told his audience in a humourous segue. “We got the ultrasound, which is weird because you’re spying on the baby… but we asked the technician not to tell us whether we’re having a boy or a girl. Our plan is to let the child decide for itself.”
Jimmy talked baby names on the show, saying the couple have come up with a unisex name for their baby. “We want that to be a surprise, but I have been trying to think of names that would work for a boy or girl. So far, I’ve come up with two: No.1, Dyson after the vacuum, or Jelatin with a J. No? That’s exactly what my wife said,” he joked.
“So there’s a lot of exciting stuff going on. Congratulations to me. I’m hosting the Oscars and I had sex. Two things as a teenage boy I never thought would be possible,” Jimmy continued.
Jimmy, 49, and Molly, 38, have been married since 2013 and are already parents to a daughter, Jane, 2. Jimmy is also a dad to son Kevin, 23, and daughter Katherine, 25, from his previous marriage.
He has previously opened up about his approach to parenting and how he has become a much more confident father with Jane than when he was with Kevin and Katherine.
“I’m more patient, I’m more confident. I didn’t make any money when I was in radio and I got fired a lot,” Jimmy said, back in September. “It’s stressful enough to get fired and have to move to another town, but when you have little kids, it’s even more stressful. So it’s easier this time around, and I’m glad because I’m busy.”
We know that parenting only improves with time and we’re confident Jimmy will be a great dad! (Unless he actually names his child Dyson or Jelatin…)
