Madonna has been granted permission by the Malawi high court to adopt a pair of twin girls.
The singer, who was recently in the country to check up on her charitable efforts there, fueled the rumours that she was also there with adoption plans in mind. After denying the rumours, it seems as if Madonna has actually adopted two children after all.
The adopted twins are four-year-old girls called Stella and Esther, who were living at the Home of Hope orphanage in Mchinji.
Madonna has already previously adopted two children from Malawai, her son David Banda in 2006 and daughter Mercy James in 2009. They were living in the same orphanage that Stella and Esther were in.
Her adoptions have not come without controversy, as many felt that Madonna was given special rights to circumvent laws that prevents foreigners to adopt children and take them abroad.
The courts have ruled in her favour dependent on Madonna being able to provide a suitable home for her children and she will also be monitored for a year before her adoption is finalised.
In addition to her adopted children, Madonna is also mother to 20-year-old daughter Lourdes, from her relationship with Carlos Leon and 16-year-old son Rocco, from her relationship with Guy Ritchie.
Congratulations to Madonna!
