Mick Jagger has become a father again for the eighth time at age 73!
The Rolling Stones frontman welcomed a son with his partner, 29-year-old ballerina Melanie Hamrick.
According to a spokesperson, the baby was born in New York and the couple are both “delighted.”
“Mick was at the hospital for the arrival. Mother and baby are doing well and we request that the media respect their privacy at this time,” the spokesperson continued.
The news broke in July that Mick was to become a father again. Mick and Melanie have been dating since 2014, despite the big age difference between them (she is also about the same age as some of Mick’s other children!) They began a relationship after the suicide of Mick’s partner of 13 years, fashion designer L’Wren Scott.
Mick is already father to seven children from his various previous relationships, including Karis, 46, Jade, 45, Elizabeth, 32, James, 31, Georgia, 24, Gabriel, 18 and Lucas, 17.
He also has five grandchildren and one great-grandchild when Jade’s daughter gave birth to a daughter.
Mick’s latest bundle of joy comes ust months after fellow Rolling Stones bandmate, Ronnie Wood, became a father for the sixth time at age 68, to a pair of twin girls.
This is not the first celebrity this year who became a parent at a later age – Janet Jackson, 50, announced that she was pregnant back in October.
It’s never too late to have children!
