Alysia

Alysia is a modern spelling variant of the popular name Alicia. Alicia is itself a Mediterranean variation on the name Alice, which is of German origin and is said to mean ‘Noble Birth’. The name can be pronounced in two ways. The most common way to pronounce it was ‘ah-LIS-ee-ah’ however recently the pronunciation ‘ah-LEE-sha’ has gained popularity, perhaps due to the fame of the American singer Alicia Keys. However the version spelled Alysia has only one pronunciation, which is ‘ah-LIS-eeh-ah’.
