Clark Gable (1901-1960) was an American film actor, often called “The King of Hollywood” and was a leading man in more than 60 films. He is perhaps most famous for his role as Rhett Butler in the Southern epic, “Gone with the Wind” opposite Vivien Leigh. Clark is a name originally given to someone with the occupation of a clerk, which in the Middle Ages was a holy man with the ability to read an write.
