David Beckham is an English football player who has played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Paris St. Germain. He is one of the world’s most well-known footballers, especially since he is married to Victoria Beckham, of Spice Girls fame. David is a biblical name borne by King David of Israel, who killed the giant Goliath with a slingshot before his rise to power. He was also a poet who gave power to the Israelites, establishing their security. David is a very popular Jewish name, and enjoys similar success across the English-speaking world.
