Jon Snow

Jon Snow is the bastard son of Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell, and is the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch. Because he is an illegitimate son, he does not get along with his stepmother but has a warm relationship with his siblings. Jon was the shortened form of the Latin Johannes, before it became John. John is a Hebrew name meaning ‘Gracious Lord’. Although the version spelt John is more popular in modern times, both of the spellings can be found in Britain and the name in general is, and has been, one of the most popular boy’s names for many years.
