Milan is a name that can be used for both boys and girls, and can come from one of two origins. It is a masculine name of Slavic origin meaning ‘Loving’. However it is also the name of a major Italian city, and is used as both a feminine and masculine name after the city of Milan. It is a fitting name for a child conceived in Italy, and has perhaps increased in popularity along with the trend of naming a child after the place they were conceived in as the Beckham’s did with their son Brooklyn.
