Natalie Portman and her husband, Benjamin Millepied, has welcomed their second child together!
Even though she was nominated for an Oscar for her role in “Jackie,” Natalie skipped the awards because she gave birth just a few days before to a baby girl.
A representative for the couple has confirmed the news, and has also revealed the baby’s name: “Natalie Portman and her husband Benjamin Millepied welcomed a baby girl, Amalia Millepied, on February 22. Mother and baby are happy and healthy.”
Natalie also had to cancel an appearance at the Independent Spirit Awards. “Due to my pregnancy, I am unable to attend the Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Awards,” she said in a statement. “I feel so lucky to be honored among my fellow nominees and wish them the most beautiful of weekends.”
The actress revealed that she was pregnant again in September, debuting her baby bump at the Venice Film Festival, where she attended the premiere of her film, “Planetarium.”
Congratulations to the happy couple! We love the name Amalia, which is a German name meaning ‘hard working.’ It’s a lovely and very sweet name with a great meaning!
