Parenting hack #7: Stop nappy leaks with clever positioning
If you’ve got a baby boy, there’s one handy hack every parent should know.
To stop nappy leaks (particularly when they’re really tiny) you’ll need to tuck their penis down before you put the nappy on – otherwise you’ll find the nappy leaks out of the sides.
If that still doesn’t work, you can try adding some cotton wool to the nappy (around the penis) to soak up some of the wee.
Once your baby gets bigger this won’t be such an issue, but the last thing you need in the middle of the night is to have to change your little one’s whole outfit because of a nappy leak.
It’s also worth noting that boys will wee more often than not as soon as you take their nappy off (and their penis is exposed to the air). To stop a load of mess, undo the nappy but hold it in front of their penis for a few seconds before you remove it completely.
