This week, we will be reviewing Muchkin’s Deluxe Drying Rack, a product that is made for baby bottles, teats, cups, pump parts and accessories. Here is the official product description from Munchkin:

DESIGN
This drying rack is composed of sixteen upward facing straws and smaller grooves for various accessories. It is also folds flat for easy storage and measures 21.3 x 23.2 x 28.7 cm when set up, so it doesn’t take up too much precious counter or sink space.
The upward facing rods are perfect for hanging baby bottles to dry. We could comfortably fit six bottles on there, but we imagine if you have smaller bottles you can utilise all eight straws. The slanted design of the drying rack mans that any water pools into the built in reservoir, so it will definitely keep your counter top dry. All you have to do is either let it air dry or use a clean towel to wipe up any excess moisture – no fuss and no mess!
One slight drawback with the design is that because it has so many grooves in which you can put things, it also makes it a tad difficult to clean properly. We had a bit of trouble getting into all the nooks and crannies, but we did eventually manage it with a scrubbing brush and some elbow grease.
MATERIAL
The rack is made out of lightweight plastic, but it feels sturdy enough that we think it will last for quite a long time – perfect if you end up having multiple children and need to break it out again a few years down the line. Because it is plastic, it means that it is easy to wipe clean (on the outside at the very least). The smoothness of the surface also means water drips down towards the reservoir.
We don’t think this problem will have any trouble with mould or the like, as it can be very easily cleaned due to the smooth plastic. It also air dries quite quickly, so there is no risk of trapped moisture leading to nasty surprises.
SPECIAL FEATURES
The deluxe drying rack has several great features that make it a really handy tool. As mentioned above, it is foldable so it can be easily stashed away as it becomes completely flat, which will help you save space in your kitchen. It also has easy to grasp handles so you can lift it without fuss and move it to wherever you need.
We also love that the straws are also rounded at the tip, which prevents scratching to the bottom of your baby bottles. It is small details like these that sets Munchkin apart from other companies, as they are both thoughtful and meticulous to parents needs.
In addition, the drying rack is top rack dishwasher safe, but as we said above, it might require some manual washing as there are quite a few grooves in it that need to be cleaned with a scrubbing brush. However, a quick clean in the dishwasher will certainly be enough on a day to day basis.
VALUE FOR MONEY
The Munchkin deluxe drying rack current retails on Amazon.co.uk for £8.58. This is actually much cheaper than other drying racks already on the market, which sell for almost double the price of the Munchkin one. We think this is a great option as it will last for years and be with you for multiple pregnancies and children. It is well designed and accommodates a fair amount of baby bottles and accessories, so we think this is a wonderful choice if you are looking for a drying rack.

In summary: This is a wonderful choice if you are in the market for a new drying rack. Although it is a bit difficult to clean and could hold a few more items, we think this will last you for years and is great value for money.
