Another day, another product review and this time it is the Munchkin White Hot® Duck Tub that we’re putting to the test. The name is pretty snazzy, but does is it any good? Read on for our unbiased and independent review.

These are some pretty big claims so we’ve put this to the test to see just how good this product is!
DESIGN
We love the design of this duck tub as it is bright, absolutely adorable and it is sure to appeal to young children. The little detailing with the eyes, beak and tail makes this tub look like a giant version of the lovable bath time rubber ducks. This is sure to stimulate children’s minds as they take their baths and it is definitely more fun than just sitting on the floor of a hard bathtub. The size is perfect for inflating in a tub and it measures 23.5 x 7.5 x 19 cm so it can comfortably accommodate children from 6-24 months old, which is great as you can get a good year or two of use out of this product. The tail part of the duck also acts as a contoured headrest, so your baby has something to lean their head against if they need it.
Munchkin have designed this with ease of use in mind and have included several very convenient features – one of these is the recessed drain hole for quick and easy draining, just like any standard bath tub. Another are the suction cups at the bottom of the tub that not only hold the tub in place, it also allows for you to hang it up on a bathroom wall to air out to dry so there is no risk of mould developing. The tub itself is also small enough that it can easily be inflated by mouth, so there is no need to buy an extra pump. These details are small but very important and it really helps in daily life when you’re already busily looking after a baby – you don’t need any extra hassle!
We also note that while it is usually used in a bathtub, there is nothing stopping you from using it on the floor of a shower if your home does not have a bathtub.
MATERIAL
The material is a strong rubber that is durable and tough, so there is little to no risk of it being punctured and developing leaks. While the rubber is strong, it is still malleable enough that it can be folded up when deflated (to be used on trips) and also soft enough that your baby won’t hurt themselves if they bump up against it. We have also noted that because of the type of rubber used, it can stay inflated for long periods of time without it losing any air – so you don’t have to deflate it at all if you don’t want to.
We also think that this material will hold up very well if you were to bring it with you on holiday, either to be used as a tub or as a small splashing pool for children while you are at the beach. It is strong enough to resist any tearing and is quite heavy duty, so it can be transported from place to place with relative ease.
SPECIAL FEATURES
One of the best features of this duck tub is the fact that it has temperature control. There is a disk inside the tub that will read “HOT” in red letters to let you know that the water in the tub is too hot so you can mix it with more cold water to even the temperature out. This is incredibly important for babies and their sensitive skin – what may seem a reasonable temperature to adults is usually too hot for a baby.
Another special feature that we love is that this tub helps you save water. The duck tub uses sufficiently less water than filling up a regular bath tub, so not only does this make your children’s bath time experience much more fun, it also helps you save a few pounds on your water bill!
VALUE FOR MONEY
The Munchkin White Hot Duck Tub currently retails for £12.86 on Amazon.co.uk. We think this is an absolute bargain as other baby bath tubs are much more expensive than this product. Not only that, but most baby bath tubs on the market are usually hard and uncomfortable, making bath time an unpleasant experience for your baby. This duck tub is playful, comfortable and durable, which is why we think this is a steal for its reasonable price.

In summary: This is a product we can’t recommend more highly. It makes bath time fun, safe and comfortable, and it can also be taken on trips as well. This is a versatile and wonderfully designed product that will be a bath time staple for the first two years of your baby’s life.
