Tina Malone has confirmed that she will be having another baby with her husband, Paul Chase, with the aid of surrogacy.
Despite the happy news, the “Shameless” actress has anticipated backlash and has been defended her baby plans. “Some will say I am selfish and irresponsible for having another child at 54,” she said to the “Sunday People”
“I am doing this for Flame and for my husband, not just myself. I am healthy, of sound mind, solvent – and a bloody brilliant mother,” Tina said.
Tina is already mother to her two daughters Danielle, 36 and Flame, 3.
Predictably, her husband Paul is concerned with the health implications of being pregnant at 54, which is why Tina has chosen to go with surrogacy. “Unfortunately I couldn’t talk my husband round, so that idea’s completely gone now,” she told “OK!” magazine. “I wouldn’t do it now because it’s too late, but my husband was just worried about health implications and taking the risks, which are increased with every year.”
Interestingly enough, Tina is also going to be choosing the sex of her baby.
