Zooey Deschanel is expecting her second child with husband, Jacob Pechenik!
The “New Girl” actress was seen sporting a baby bump while filming earlier this week, but the news was confirmed by “US Weekly” magazine, although Zooey herself has not released a statement yet.
The couple are already parents to 18-month-old daughter, Elsie Otter – yes, like the animal! Zooey has spoken in the past about how she wanted to contrast a ‘wild’ middle name with her daughter’s traditional first name.
In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Zooey said: “I love animals so much. And we love otters because they’re so cute, and playful and fun. And they’re really smart.”
“We both found that we had a mutual love for otters. There were some more normal middle names… but I saw that nobody else likely had the middle name ‘Otter,'” she explained.
Zooey and Jacob have been dating since 2014, and surprised fans when they announced that they secretly got married in June 2015, in Texas and welcomed their first daughter together at the same time.
We wonder if Zooey will choose another animal name for her new bundle of joy – perhaps hedgehog or flamingo? Only time will tell but for now, congratulations to the happy couple!
